At La Green Hotel & Residence, the vibrant and joyous spirit of the Traditional Songkran festival was alive and well, as guests gathered to partake in cherished customs that honor Thai heritage. Among the highlights of our Songkran Day celebrations were the Alms Giving Ceremony and the Elderly Blessing Ceremony, both deeply meaningful and integral to Thai culture.

The Alms Giving Ceremony, known as Tak Bat, is a time-honored tradition where locals offer food to monks as a gesture of merit-making and to gain blessings for the new year. This year, guests and staff alike took part in this sacred ritual, offering alms to the monks who visited our hotel. It was a serene and humbling experience, as the peaceful procession brought a sense of tranquility to our bustling surroundings.

Following the Alms Giving Ceremony, we held the Elderly Blessing Ceremony, or Rod Nam Dum Hua, where younger members of the community pay respect to their elders by pouring scented water over their hands as a symbol of cleansing and renewal. This tradition embodies the values of gratitude, respect, and the importance of family bonds. Our guests enthusiastically participated in this heartwarming gesture, expressing their appreciation for the wisdom and guidance of the elderly.
